Given that this is a javascript game, there are bound to be some browser-inconsistences/incompatabilities. Flash would have probably made for a more solid playing experience, but javascript is quicker/easier/cheaper and allows other people to easily add characters/pictures into the game (as they're all just .GIF files in a folder). It was developed on a Windows 98 machine using primarily Opera (as it worked best with the ability to play sound-files).

Buttons
On Macs, the "keystroke listener" (thing that checks hwen you hit the keyboard) registers every button you press twice. In an attempt to fix this, I try to detect Mac or Safari, & if I detect them, I make it only use every OTHER keystroke. You are given a link to turn this off if this pops up in error. In IE, screen may blink when when sound loads (so sound defaults to off)
In Firefox, you need a quicktime plugin i can't install (so i don't know how well it works)
